Parthenon to deliver over 80 hours of programming to Scandinavia
Parthenon Entertainment has sold around 80 hours of programming to some of Scandinavia’s leading free-to-air terrestrial broadcasters.
TV10 in Sweden acquired a 65 hour programme package of blue-chip science and history titles, including Sports Science (13x60’HD) a series that tests top athletes performing amazing experiments. SVT meanwhile acquired a seven hour package, including Cuba: Accidental Eden (1x60’ HD), which focuses on the country’s stunning contrasts between its beautiful wilderness and urban landscapes.
NRK in Norway secured the rights to Parthenon’s own nature series Baby Planet (13x30’ HD), whilst YLE in Finland acquired six hours of nature and history docs, including Japan’s Secret Weapon (1x60’ HD) and Kingdom of the Forest (1x60’ HD), a multi award-winning documentary which shows the intricate ecosystem of a primeval forest and its spectacular life cycles.
Finally, DR-TV in Denmark and NRK in Norway both picked up human interest doc Men Who Swim (1x60’ HD), a documentary which offers a humorous and poignant look at a group of middle aged men who find unlikely success as members of Sweden’s all male synchronised swimming team.
Commenting on the deals, Jennifer Cable, Sales Executive at Parthenon Entertainment, said:
“We have enjoyed great success working with many of the major broadcasters throughout Scandinavia. These deals reflect their different needs and requirements and the breadth of programmes and genres we can offer to all our clients in these countries.”
